Indoor Rules

Welcome to the Lady Shooters Soccer League, Vaughan.  Please read the rules we have set out for our indoor sessions.

DIVISIONS: The league reserves the right to amend or balance the divisions based on the team’s playing ability and number of teams.  We work very hard and consider each aspect when it comes to placing teams into the appropriate divisions.  This decision is under the discretion of the LSSL, not the captain or team.

ZERO TOLERANCE of any violence of any kind, inappropriate language, or behavior between players/referees/visitors/league convenors/officials in this league at any time.

The league reserves the right to ask a player/team to leave without reason given at any given time if the player/team does not follow the rules set out.

NOTE: if this occurs there will be absolutely no money returned to the team/player.

SCHEDULES will be posted prior to the leagues first game of the session.  It is the responsibility of the team captain/players to check the website on a regular basis for any schedule changes that may have to occur.  The league will try to contact the team captains with any changes when possible. The leagues website: www.ladyshooterssoccer.com

All schedule changes are made without team captains’ approval.  The league reserves the right to prevent teams from going to playoffs and ask them to leave the league without completing the season.  Such reasons may include not submitting full team fees by due date of GAME #4, inappropriate language/behavior by the team captain/players towards the league convenors and or league referees. If this were to occur; the team will not receive any monies back.

Game times are set out as a guideline, this does not mean that each team will have balanced time slots of games.  The league does everything in its power to make game times as even as possible for each team.

There will be no re-scheduling of any game for any reason other than set out by LSSL and or Trio Sportsplex.

INCLEMENT WEATHER: all scheduled games are a GO-AHEAD according the LSSL posted schedules unless the team captain is informed by the league convenors any differently.  If there is a severe weather condition and Trio Sportsplex has contacted us that they are closing the facility, the league will contact the team captains via email/text of this closure then it’s the responsibility of the team captains to pass this info onto your team-mates.  As well the LSSL will post the information of closure onto the website: www.ladyshooterssoccer.com.

Note to all captains: if your team decides not to show up for the scheduled game and or if the league is not given appropriate notification up to 3:00 pm that the team has decided to forfeit, then the team will be fined $100.  Captains must email the league at ladyshooterssoccer@gmail.com notifying the league convenor that the team is forfeiting the game up to 3:00 pm, if not then the team must pay $100 to the league prior to the next scheduled game.  If the team does not pay this fee by the next game, then each and every game will be a forfeit for that team until the fee has been sent to: ladyshooterssoccer@gmail.com

REFEREES: All referees of the LSSL are all certified and are appointed by the league referee in chief to officiate each game.  They shall enforce the laws of the game in accordance with the FIFA laws and of the LSSL of the game polices and procedure. The referee’s decision at the time of the game shall be final.  They must complete the game sheet provided by each of the teams he/she referees.  They must provide a typed/written report on the reverse side of any discipline issues/challenges that may have risen during the game.

PLAYER & TEAM REGISTRATION FORMS must be filled out by each player stepping food on the playing pitch. All forms can be found at www.ladyshooterssoccer.com in the FORMS section on the home Page sight. The forms must be submitted electronically to ladyshooterssoccer@gmail.com There are no ands, ifs or buts regarding this, if you are caught on the playing pitch without having a for filled out you will be asked to get off the pitch ASAP. This is an insurance issue therefore you must all abide by the rule. As well a passport size headshop photo must also be submitted with your registration forms.

Players are to bring photo ID with them to each game in case the opposing team challenges the registration of a player.  The league convenor will check the player in question by reviewing their Id and the photo the league has on record of the.  If the player in question does not have photo id with them, they may be asked to leave the pitch by the league conveyor.

It is the responsibility of the team captain to submit a Team Registration form along with the team deposit to guarantee your team a spot for the session.

Captains are responsible in passing on all information sent by the LSSL, such as registration of the team, informing your team-mates that they must submit a player registration form and photo, monies owing to the league, game times/dates etc. to your team. The league will communicate with the team captains regarding all mention under this section.

Captains are responsible to notify each player on the team how much the player fee is to play on your team along with the insurance fee for the year (June 1-June 1 of each year) As long the player has paid in any session of that year: summer indoor, fall indoor, winter indoor they only pay it once for that year.

PAYMENT: All teams MUST be paid in full no later than game 4.  Failure to complete full payment will result in a fine of $100.00 and default of the 5th scheduled game and so forth.  Captains are responsible to collect all monies from the players and submit payments over the 4 weeks given.

Payments can be given in the form of cash, cheque, and e-transfer to ladyshooterssoccer@gmail.com or Lady Shooters Soccer League.

NOTE: there are NO REFUNDS for any given reason to the LSSL.  Any team/player that submits an NSF cheque will be fined $50.00 per cheque. Fines must be paid in order for the team/players to play in the next scheduled game.

Captains/Players, it is NOT the responsibility to chase down players to submit registration forms, photo ID, insurance fees and player fees. Again, if this is not done ASAP it may end it the player being asked to sit out and or leave the league.

UNIFORMS:  Only players on the team roster are allowed to dress and sit on the team bench during each game.

All players jerseys must be of the same color and have a clear number on the back of the jersey.  Please do not have a duplicating number as another player on the team.  The number on the back of each players jersey must coincide with the number next to their name on the Team Game Sheet and Team Roster.

A player without a number on the back of their jersey will be called off the field until their number has clearly been put on.  They will not be permitted back onto the pitch until it has been done so.

NOTE: the league or front desk will not supply tape, markers etc.

In the event of a clash of colors in uniforms a coin toss by the referee will determine which team will wear league pinnies.  If a player forgets their jersey, then the whole team must wear the pinnies.  Leggings are permitted; however, they must be under the shorts and shin pads/soccer socks, so the full uniform is still visible.  Players requiring their legs and arms to be covered for religious reason may do so in the color black only.  Players must wear soccer shorts and a jersey over any additional garments.

EQUIPMENT: All games are to be played with a size 5 soccer ball.  All players are to wear proper protective soccer shin guards, socks, and indoor soccer shoes. If you do not have any of the equipment on, you will be asked to leave the pitch. Each team must provide the referee with one game ball at the start of the game.  The league will not supply a game ball.

Shin guards MUST be worn under soccer socks. If a player does not have them on, they will be asked to leave the pitch until they have them on.  If they do not have any, then they will not be allowed to play.  Players are not permitted to use anything other than soccer shin guards to play.

NO Jewelry of any sort, watches, hair clips, etc. are not allowed to be worn while playing.  Do not argue with the referee when he/she askes you/players to take it off.  Players will not be permitted on the pitch until the jewelry has been removed.  If a player has visible piercing such as nose/ear studs, they are required to tape them.

Sports glasses with proper head bands are permitted.  Regular everyday eyes glasses are not recommended by the LSSL to be worn during games.

Knee and leg braces with any hard metal/practice must be covered by an approved sleeve/wrap before entering the pitch.  The referee/convenors must give approval prior to playing.

GAME SHEET & TEAM ROSTER: All teams are required to submit a legible typed or handwritten game sheet printed from the LSSL website under forms www.ladyshooterssoccer.com prior to the start of each game. Failure to do so will result in the abandonment of the game.  All players from the roster must be listed on the team game sheet with their first, last name and their coinciding jersey number.

Each team is allowed 2 coaches on the bench during each game.  The coaches first and last names MUST be listed on the team roster and on each game sheet or they will be asked to leave the player’s bench.  Coaches are there to coach the team in a positive manner, make line changes, etc., not to ague with the referee.  If a coach does not agree with a referee call, then he/she may ask in an appropriate manner for the call to be explained.  Coaches are not allowed to leave the bench area in between the lines where players sub on and off the field.

All captains must submit a team roster with up to 14 players (fall/winter) up to 16 (summer) first and last names and coinciding jersey #.  This roster must be submitted asap and not later than game one.

Teams can sign up more players, not exceeding 14 (fall/winter and 16 (summer)onto the team’s roster and game sheet up to game # 6.  All new players must follow the same procedure of registering with the LSSL as everyone else. Registration form, photo and Insurance must be submitted and paid prior to stepping foot onto the pitch.

CHANGE ROOMS: It is suggested for each team to get a team change room where all your belongings can be left and locked up in that room.  The LSSL askes for gym bags, coats etc. not to be brought to the player bench area as there is not enough room for players to kick the ball in etc. on the side lines. Player trip over and fall having personal belongings on the side lines.  You can obtain a change room from the front desk personnel by leaving a set of keys with them, once the key is returned to the front desk, they will in turn give you back the keys that were submitted.

GAME DURATION: 50 minutes in total.  All games will be 2-equal halved of 25 minutes each, unless otherwise specified/stated by LSSL or the referee of the game.

START OF GAME: A team that does not have enough players to start the game will be given a 5-minute grace period.  After the 5-minute grace period if the team still notes to have enough players to start the 5-vs 5= (3 + Goalie) and 6 vs 6= (4 + Goalie) the referee will award a default to the team with not enough players.  The opposing team will get an automatic win of 3-0 for that game.

The referee will start the game time clock whether the teams are ready or not for the scheduled game.  Once the referee warning whistle is blown the team is expected to get their players onto the pitch with a game ball and ready to start the game.  We are required to finish each game on time for the next game to begin.  We respect everyone’s time, therefore must start on time and end on time.

If a game has been played for ½ or more of the duration of a 50-minute game (25 minutes +) and for any reason the game is called by the referee, the game score stands as it at that time. If for any reason the game ends prior to ½ played and cannot go on, then both teams will receive a tie for the game.  If a team for any reason chooses to leave the pitch without finishing the game and the referee not calling the game, this is then an abandonment of the game, therefore the team that leaves the pitch will automatically get a 3-0 loss.

SPECTATORS: all teams are responsible for their own spectators.  Spectators are not allowed in the field area to watch any game; they must go and watch from upstairs on the Mezzanine level of Trio Sportsplex.  Please note that this is a facility and LSSL rule as persons not playing are not insured under the league and or through the facility if something were to happen.

Spectators should not be yelling anything that may be negative in any which way or form towards any of the players on the pitch.  This could also lead to a player looking up at the spectators and being hit by the ball or player etc. Any Spectator that gets rowdy, overly loud etc. during a match/deemed uncontrollable by the referee will be asked to leave the premises.  Failure to leave may result in the abandonment of the game by the referee and the team will be awarded a default plus any incurring fines will be placed on the team for the spectators’ actions.

NOTE: if during a game an incident occurs between players, in no way are any spectators to run onto the field and become involved in the incident at hand.

CHALLENGING THE ELIGIBILTY OF A PLAYER: any team captain/co-captain wishing to challenge the eligibility of a player (s) must locate one of the league convenors (usually in the front entrance area and or on the fields).  We will then go from there in asking the player for photo id, and checking our records with the player registration form and the photo id they would have submitted.  Any challenge of a player must be done so up to the last 5 minutes of the game.  The league convenor will not be able to do anything once the final whistle of the game has been blown by the referee of the game. If the player is not registered with the league the team that has brough this player onto the pitch will then be given a 3-0 forfeit of the game.  The team will be fined $100.00 which will have to be paid prior to the next game.  If the fine is not paid in full by the next game, then they will be given another forfeit of 3-0 until the fine is paid.

TEAM/PLAYER/SPECTATOR FINES: all fines that are incurred by all teams/players are to be paid in full prior to the team’s next scheduled game.  Captains are held accountable for their players/spectator and payments.

All fines are the responsibility of the team’s captain as per the team registration form, signed and dated by the captain/co-captain of the team.  Failure to pay the fines will result in a defaulted game for the next week, if the fine (s) are not paid by the 2nd week of the incident then the team will be asked to leave the league with receiving no monies back.

FORFEIT OF GAMES: it is the responsibility of the team captain/co-captain and or players of the team to inform the LSSL.  We are to be emailed NO LATER THAN 3:00 PM of game night of the teams forfeit to ladyshooterssoccer@gmail.com . Failure to do so, the team will be fined $200.00 to be paid in full prior to the next game or the team will not be allowed to field.  In failing to pay the fine by the next game will be an automatic 3-0 default, and if the fine in not paid by the game after that, the team will be asked to leave the league with no monies returned by the LSSL.

You can carry up to 14 players (fall/winter) 16 players (summer) on your roster. In doing so it will help by the team always having enough players to field for each scheduled game.  Games are scheduled, you commit to playing on the team, so commit to coming to play each week.  We all understand situations come up, but we must try hard to keep our commitment to the team and captain, so they are not put into a position of forfeiting games. We need to respect everyone’s time, players and referees are coming in from over most driving for ½ hour +. Fines will be enforced by the LSSL.

BENCH AREA CLEAN-UP: all players/teams are responsible to clean up their bench area of water bottles, tissues, bandages, tape etc. Please put all empty bottles and or garbage in the large garbage bins provided by Trio Sportsplex.  If a team is found bye the LSSL and or Trio Sportsplex staff in leaving a mess of bottles, tissues, bandages, tape etc.  they will be fined $100.00.

SPITTING AND WATER BACKWASHING: is strictly prohibited on the pitch.

SUBSTITUTIONS: unlimited on-the-fly from the centre of the pitch. All substitutions must be made at centre field, failure to do so will result in a 2-minute player down penalty.

All players must minimum 3 yards away from any kick-in, free kick or corner kick.  All kicks are indirect except for penalty kicks, they are direct.

GOALIES: cannot punt the ball out of their hands, they can either drop-kick or throw the ball back into play.

SLIDE TACKLING: absolutely no slide tackles or plays allowed by any player.  The ball cannot be played while the player is down on the ground and or with one knee down on the pitch.  Any slide tackling will result in a 2-minute, player down penalty with a possible yellow/red card and suspension pending if there is a foul on the play and the extend of the foul.  Only goalies can slide to get the ball.

PENALTIES: all penalties will last the full duration given by the referee of the game regardless of who scores.

SWEARING AT THE GAME OFFICIAL: is minimum a 1 game suspension or more pending on the referee’s game report.

FOUL FROM BEHIND: is an automatic warning from the referee (yellow card) with no more warnings if this proceeds and or the extent of the original push, elbow etc. the player will then be given a red card and asked to leave the players bench and pitch immediately with more game suspensions pending on the referee’s game report. In the case of any red cards given, the team then plays short a player for 5 minutes.

THROWING A PUNCH/SLAP/HAIR PULLING/SCRATCHING ECT: is an automatic 3 games with the possibility of the LSSL asking the player to leave to league with no monies given back.

FIGHTING: is an automatic 3 games with the possibility of the LSSL asking the player to leave to league with no monies given back.

2 Yellow cards in the same game results in a red card minimum of a 1 game suspension pending the referee’s report. The player will be asked to leave the current game and will serve suspension time as laid out by the LSSL.

TEAMS INVOLVED IN A BRAWL/FIGHT: all players involved in any way, shape or form will receive an automatic 1 or more game suspension pending the referee’s report.

NOTE: the LSSL reserves the right to eject and or ban the team/players from returning to the LSSL in all divisions/game nights for as long as it deems so.  The game will be stopped asap and will be deemed finished at that point.  The game score will stand as is at the stop of the game by the referee.  Any player that leaves the bench to enter an altercation will be given a minimum of 1 game suspension that may result into more games pending the referee’s game report.

All other violent conduct will be given suspensions pending the referee’s report and determined by the LSSL and Head Referee of the league. The referee may eject a player from the game without giving that player a penalty or suspension. Teams are not allowed to have more than 2 players on a penalty at a time.  Should a team receive a 3rd penalty then the game will be called and the team that could not field 3 players and a goalie will be awarded a 3-0 loss.

Any coaches using foul language and or repeated arguing with the referee will be asked to leave the field for the remainder of the game with a possible game (s) suspension depending on the referee’s report.

Absolutely no contact is to be made with any of the goalies including charging or screaming.  If a goalkeeper receives a 2- minute penalty, her time may be served by another player from on the field (the team plays short 1 player). For a red card given to a goalie, they will be ejected from the game and will not be allowed to come back to play in that game and all noted suspensions listed will apply along with the referee’s report.

All suspensions and the length of each suspension will be determined by the LSSL and Head Referee of the LSSL.  Any team that uses a suspended player in the next game, etc. (until the player has served the suspension time given) will be given a default loss and the suspended player will be suspended an extra 2 games on the original amount already given.
